Walter E. "Buck" Hylton

WALTER E. “BUCK” HYLTON

Walter E. “Buck” Hylton, age 85, went to his Heavenly home on January 25, 2021, from his earthly home.

He was born January 12, 1936, in Willis, VA, a son of the late Martin Luther Hylton and Maggie Bishop Hylton. He had lived in the Abingdon area for over 40 years and was a member of Greendale Chapel.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Francis Weeks, and three brothers, Junior Hylton, John Hylton, and Bill Hylton.

Buck lived the true American Dream. He built his beloved business “Little B Enterprises, Inc.” from the ground up with years of hard work, determination and ingenuity. He worked hard, but he also played hard, loving all things that go fast. He was always up for taking anyone for a ride in one of his Mustangs. He loved a good laugh and seeing his grandchildren come through the door and greet him with a hug was one of his favorite things in life. Family meant everything to him, especially his precious wife, “Doll” who always loved him so well and was a wonderful caregiver. Buck was an unselfish person and helped countless people in many ways through the years. He will be greatly missed.

The most important decision of his life was in the summer of 1992 when he decided to trust In Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. He was so thankful for the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. His prayers were always full of thanksgiving to God for all of the ways He has blessed him and most importantly sending His only Son to die in our place and save us eternally. Because of this Blessed Hope, we mourn for our loss on earth, but can rejoice because of his gain of heaven with the Savior, and we can meet him again if we are saved.

Buck is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 41 years, Darlene Large Hylton; daughter, Sherry Allen and husband Tom of St. Paul, VA; daughter, Paula Abernathy and husband Jason of Piney Flats, TN; son, Kevin “B” Hylton and wife Mona of Castlewood, VA; daughter, Kristina Graham and husband Walt of Abingdon, VA; son, Russell Mullins and wife Pam of St. Paul, VA; sister, Polly Murphy of Abs Valley, VA; grandchildren, Dylan Allen, Derek Allen and wife Shaina, Mandi Hylton, Seth Hylton, Peyton Abernathy, Maggie Graham, Wesley Graham, Walter “Wade” Graham, Drew Mullins and wife Anna, and Mallory Mullins; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to recognize a very special part of his business and our family, his loyal office administrator, Virginia Korn. Virginia has worked diligently for Little B for 43 years, as well as for Buck and all his family. We would like to express appreciation to Eddie Mitchell and Rick Helbert for their loyalty and kindness. We would also like to say a special thank you to Dr. James Schrenker and all his staff; t hey have loved each one of us so well and have taken such good care of our precious daddy.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Greendale Chapel Cemetery, Rich Valley Road, Abingdon, VA with Pastor Jerry Eggers and Pastor Joe Cox officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be former and present employees of Little B, men of Greendale Chapel, and men of Willis Full Gospel Church.

In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, all those attending services are asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
