Rondol Carrol Hartley, 79, passed away January 1, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hartley was born March 31, 1941 in Roda, VA. to the late William and Thelma Estep Hartley.
Rondol served in the United States Air Force as a radar technician. Mr. Hartley spent his early career working alongside his brother at Bob’s Market in Big Stone Gap, VA., where he enjoyed serving the community. Later on he moved to Florida to enjoy time near the ocean. He was thrilled to spend the rest of his career working as a maintenance technician and clean room technician at the Kennedy Space Center. He was enthralled by every aspect of the inner workings of the aerospace industry. He was an avid reader, loved being outdoors, watching westerns and above all spending time with his family.
Including his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Gary Wayne Hartley.
Survivors include, his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Botts Hartley; daughter, Lisa Hartley Hill; son, Mark Hartley; two sisters, JoAnn Craddock and husband Bill, and Linda Williams; two brothers, Bob Hartley and Jim Hartley and wife Jane; grandson, Andrew Hartley Hill; also several nieces and nephews.
