William Gentry "Hank" Alexander

William Gentry “Hank” Alexander, 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at his home.


He was born in Washington County, Va. and lived his entire life in the Brumley Gap community. Hank loved farming. He especially enjoyed spending time hiking in the mountains and visiting his old homeplace.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Alexander and Dorothy Mae Gill Alexander.


Survivors include seven sisters, Christine White, Helen Street, Clara White, Josie Mitchell, Katherine Whitehead, Lorene Mitchell and Linda Alexander; five brothers, Dale Alexander, Earl Alexander, David Alexander, Michael Alexander and Jimmy Alexander; special nephew, Christopher Alexander and several other nieces and nephews.


Funeral services for William “Hank” Alexander will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Matney and Rev. Fred Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m., until the time of service at the funeral home. The committal service and interment will be 11 a.m., Saturday at Counts Cemetery in the Brumley Gap community. Those attending are asked to gather at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.


Pallbearers will be Kevin Alexander, Lynn Webb, Michael Mitchell, Daniel Whitehead, Jason Alexander, Jeff Alexander, Glen Mitchell, Britt White and Ronnie White. Billy Mitchell will serve as an honorary pallbearer.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to the Brumley Gap Fire Department in his honor.
