William Franklin Barr

William Franklin Barr, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on December 24, 2025. He was born on July 5, 1941, in the Green Cove Community to the late William Barr and Lena Barr.

William was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, deacon, and trusted friend. His life was marked by integrity, generosity, and a strong work ethic.

A true outdoorsman, William found joy and fulfillment in working the land and with his hands. He loved gardening, operating heavy equipment, and working as a mechanic. Whether he was cultivating his garden, repairing engines, or solving mechanical problems, he approached every task with patience, skill, and pride. He was known for his humble spirit, quiet wisdom, and his steady willingness to help others whenever needed.

A faithful servant of the Lord, William served for many years as a Deacon of Green Cove Christian Church. His leadership, compassion, and dedication strengthened both his church and his community. His life reflected his faith—quiet, strong, unwavering, and rooted deeply in love.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Todd Warren Barr; and one sister, JoAnn Osborne.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Janine Barr; two sons, Scott Barr (Vickie) and Bob Barr (Lisa Bailey); three grandchildren, Taylor Oakes (Mike), Cole Barr, and girlfriend Nora Walters, and Emily Barr, and boyfriend Blaize Cato; one brother, James Warren Barr; along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Green Cove Christian Church, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 P.M. officiated by Minister Maurice Widener. A committal service will follow, going in procession, to Green Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Bob Barr, Scott Barr, Cole Barr, Mike Oakes, Brian Barr, and Randy Lewis.
