Wanda Sharon (Hughes) McFadden-Smith

Wanda Sharon (Hughes) McFadden-Smith, age 71, passed away on December 10, 2025. She was born in Lebanon, VA, and was the beloved daughter of the late Graham Robinson and Kathleen Robinson Hughes.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Robinson and Harlow Robinson.

Sharon was first married to the late Harvey McFadden, and later shared her life with her devoted husband, Lyons Smith, who survives her.

She is also survived by her daughter, Myra Smith, and husband Christopher; her son, Matthew McFadden, and wife Elaine; and her cherished grandchildren Penelope, Oliver, Samuel, Harvey, and Finley. Sharon is additionally survived by her sister, Lucille Taylor; her stepdaughter, Karen Benton, and husband Steve; step-grandchildren Whitney Butler and husband Lance, and Stephanie Pope and husband Brent; and her step–great-grandchildren Cayden and Evey Pope.

Sharon was a faithful member of Revival Center Independent Baptist Church in Bristol, VA. She was known for her caring and loving heart, always offering kindness and warmth to everyone around her. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she treasured nothing more than spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, at Revival Center Independent Baptist Church in Bristol, VA, from 5:00–7:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Ministers Rex Mallory and Leo Rhymer officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 13, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens at 11:00 AM. Those wishing to attend the graveside should arrive at the cemetery at 10:45 AM.

Sharon’s love, compassion, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
