Wanda Fay Price, 78, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was born on August 9, 1947, to the late Herman and Helen Williams.
Wanda graduated from Johnston Memorial School of Nursing in 1971. She was a dedicated nurse for over 45 years and the Nurse Manager of the Newborn Nursery and NICU. She was a devoted pastor’s wife of over 50 years at Temple Baptist, faithfully serving alongside her husband, the late Pastor John W. Price. Throughout her life, Wanda shared her love and compassion with others as a church pianist, Sunday School teacher, and active member of the Ladies Missionary Group. She often opened her home to those in need, caring for them as her own.
She dearly loved her little dog, Angel, and her church family, but her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. She also cherished the companionship of her beloved grand-dog, Finn.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by several loved ones who welcomed her home to Heaven.
She is survived by her three children, one son, Kevin Price, and two daughters, Kim Sweet and husband Kevin, and Karie Fields and husband Alan; four grandchildren, Katie Montgomery and husband Ethan, Kaden Sweet and girlfriend Chloe Taylor, Kylie Fields and boyfriend Gibson McPeek, and Konnor Sweet; one brother, David Williams; one sister, Carolyn Pointer; and two very special friends, Peggy Harless and Rosemaire Long, who she held dear and close to her heart.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Kevin Price officiating.
Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will include Kaden Sweet, Kevin Sweet, Konnor Sweet, Lannie Osborne, Alan Fields, Nelson Shortt, and Ethan Montgomery.
