Walter Franklin Lane, 84, went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2024 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN.
He was born to the late Walter Ray and Ella Williams Lane in Washington County, VA.
Mr. Lane worked for Columbus McKinnon for over 30 years before retiring with the company. During his free time, he loved to sit on the front porch in his rocking chair and walking the VA Creeper Trail. He was an ordained Pastor and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Damascus, VA. He will always be remembered for his giving heart and warm embrace he gave his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Sallie Hand Lane; one son, Ray Lane and wife Mary; one brother, Edward Lane and wife Ilene; one grandson, Jonathan Henegar and wife Amanda; brothers-in-law; Billy Hand and wife Charlene, Cliff Hand and wife Tina, and Bud Hand; also, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Wednesday January 31, 2024 at Frost Funeral Home with a service to follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Paul Maye and Pastor Johnny Dillard officiating. A committal service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, VA.
Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Fleenor, Mark Mullins, Tim Cox, Charlie Hand, Phil Fleenor, Brian Emmert and Bradley Hand.
