Vivian Irene Grant Parker

Updated: Jun 13, 2022

A lifelong resident of the Bethel community passed peacefully to that great “Cracker Barrel” above on June 6, 2022 with her family by her side.

Born May 12, 1930 to William Frank Grant and Lettie Maiden Grant she was one of five children raised on the Middle Fork River farm.

Mom was preceded in death by our Dad, Fred G Parker, her parents above, siblings L Marshall Grant, Frank Grant, Edith G Whitaker and Evelyn June Grant.

She is survived by her children Fred W Parker and wife Vickie, Betty Gayle McCall and husband Steve, granddaughters Melinda G McCall of Louisa, VA, Ann B Mayfield and husband Lee of Cherry Grove, SC. We cannot forget three wild and wonderful great grandchildren Luke Mayfield, Molly Mayfield and Lucy Lamb.

She was best known as “Mammoo” to the grandkids and the countless children who enjoyed her home with endless boxes of cereal, lunches, after school snacks and pizzas on Friday. Mom’s cooking was about as close to heaven as one could get while here on earth, especially her three-day coconut cake, homemade egg custard, chicken n dumplings, and country style steak.

Friends and family may call at either Fred or Betty’s house during this time. Please remember, if you going to Betty’s leave the perfume off due her extreme allergy.

A graveside service will be held Friday June 17, 5:30 pm at the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. One last thing, simply close your eyes and listen. You just might hear St Peter saying “Parker, party of two!”

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Bethel Church Cemetery.

Frost Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Parker.
