Mr. Vince Dolan Salyer, age 80, passed away on March 21, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born in Castlewood, Virginia the son of the late Ivory and Frances Salyer. He had made his home in Washington County, Va. for the past 40 years and was a member of Shady Grove Holiness Church. He was a farmer and was a very avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and deer hunt. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leon Salyer, Donald Salyer and Jimmy Salyer and two sisters, Joan Wolfe and Edith Dixon He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Madge Salyer.
He is survived by Three daughters, Donna Greer of Bristol, Va. Diane Wise of Abingdon, Va. and Nina Gail Powers and husband Tim of Abingdon, Virginia; Two sons, Mitchell D. Salyer and wife Louise and Dennis Wayne Salyer and wife Michelle all of Abingdon; three brothers, Gene Salyer, Sam Salyer and Darrius Salyer and one sister, Mary Dale Jessee; 10 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dolan Salyer will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Adam Wise officiating. Active pallbearers will be Adam Wise, Travis Salyer Tim Powers, Tim Duty, Josh Powers, Dennis Salyer and Mitch Salyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Helton and Tim Tedder. The family will receive friends at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday. The family will adjourn from the Chapel and meet at 3:00 P.M. at the Keith Cemetery in Castlewood, Virginia for burial.
