Thelma “Ted” Wyatt Wright, 85, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2021. She left this world at home surrounded by family.
She was born on May 5, 1935, to the late Wiley Franklin Wyatt and Roena Evelyn Crewey Wyatt. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, James “Peady’ Wyatt and Wiley Eugene Wyatt, and two sisters Christine Harris and Lillian Burgess. She spent her childhood in Rich Valley, Virginia. She later spent her adult life in Glade Spring, Virginia and Bristol, Tennessee. She loved reading her Bible, and loved college and pro sports, especially the Vols and the Cowboys! She retired from Raytheon after thirty-three years of service. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and served as pre-school leader. Her church was a big part of her life and she was a very active member.
She is survived by her two daughters, Gail Brinkley Hutton and husband Jim, of Glade Spring, Virginia and Tammy Brinkley Lewis and husband Dave, of Bristol, Tennessee. She also is survived by six grandchildren - Krissy Carter Howell, Alicia Smith Boyd, Michael Carter, Ashley Smith Stiltner, Lindsey Carter Reimer and Dillon Hutton; four step - grandsons - Matt and Andy Lewis, and Kent and Brian Hutton. Also remaining to cherish her memory are
11 great grandchildren - Carter and Maddie Dorton; Caleb and Landon Boyd; Haley, Zachary, and Brooklyn Carter; Jaden and Kaylee Stiltner; Brinkley and Brooke Reimer ;
ten step great grandchildren - Camy, Kenna and Caroline Richards; Keagen, Kollin and Kolton Hutton; Hayden, Landon, Gavyn and Will Lewis. One special sister in law Patsy Wyatt; one special niece Deanna Reynolds; three nieces, and one nephew. Her family was a big part of her life and she loved her family unconditionally.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Frost Funeral Home. A service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jack Sprinkle officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matt Lewis, Andy Lewis, Zach Carter, Carter Dorton, Frank Wyatt, Kent Hutton, Dillon Hutton, and Mike Carter.
In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, all those attending services are asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
