Teresa Gail Carter, age 48, of Bristol, Va., passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at her home. Teresa was born in Washington County, Va., on September 7, 1970, and lived in the area her entire life. She will be remembered by her family for her love of reading and watching classic tv shows. Teresa was a member of multiple online auction sites and enjoyed buying on a regular basis. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her loving husband of 17 years who never left her side during her journey with cancer, Kevin Carter; her parents, Gilbert and Ada Cox of Bristol, Va.; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Louise Cox of Bristol, Va.; her sister by love, McKayla Hobbs and her daughters, Braelynn and Bryleigh of Bristol, Va.; father-in-law, Gary Carter of Bristol, Va.; family that helped care for her during her illness, Pat Gill, Sherry Trail and Bill Keller; special friends, Sharon and Jeff Russell; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other friends. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. David Thompson for his friendship and excellent care shown to Teresa over the years. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2019, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., in the chapel with Pastor Marvin Slagle officiating. An entombment service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday in the mausoleum of Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, Va. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery by 12:45 p.m. Pallbearers will be Caleb Spears, Tanner Spears, Matthew Hobbs, Grant Jones, Eusebio Cardenas and David Cardenas. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
