Suleen Reeder

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Suleen Reeder, who passed peacefully Saturday, October 4, 2025, at her home surrounded by her children.

Suleen was born in Lafayette, IN, January 3, 1941, to James and Doreen Henry.

Suleen was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dedicated professional. She relocated from Lafayette, Indiana to Virgina, where she began a distinguished 47-year banking career. She eventually retired in 2019 where she was the Vice President of Real Estate and Commercial Lending.

Suleen was a faithful and active member of Parkway Worship Center where she cherished her church family.

To know Suleen was to know her love for Christmas. Everyone who knew her looked forward to visiting her home to see the spectacular array of indoor and outdoor Christmas decorations. Her love to the holiday was such that, as her family lovingly joked, "You really couldn't walk through her house because there was so much Christmas!

Above all, Suleen's greatest joy was her family. She lived to be involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. If there was a ballgame, school program, or activity, she was there. When she wasn't cheering on her family, she was the undisputed master shopper, often noted that "If mom wasn't shopping, she wasn't happy.
