Shirley F. Vestal of Abingdon, VA met her Heavenly Father on December 17, 2021. Shirley was born May 13, 1946 in Mountain City, TN. Shirley was loved by family and friends and will be deeply missed. Shirley was a loving wife, Mother, Mamaw, sister and aunt. Over the last six months, Shirley had many health challenges but her faith never wavered. She trusted the Lord and praised Him daily. Shirley was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Shirley loved her church family and loved going to church.
Shirley is preceded in death by her mother and father, Alfred and Judy Stanley, brothers, Bill and Paul Stanley. Sisters, Bessie Sludder and Bonnie Spencer. Special fur baby Izzy and grand-pups Ollie, Nitro and Brownie.
Survivors include her loving husband of 36 years, Clifton Vestal. Clifton and Shirley loved each other dearly. Shirley has four daughters: Roberta Walls (Tony), Eva Turner (Dex), Jenny Farley (Jerry) and Kim Tignor (Jamie). Two sons, Billy McCommas and David Vestal (Angie). Her loving fur baby Oscar whom she adored and he adored her and her cats.
Grandchildren, Justin Walls, Hannah Grace Turner, Josh and Meghan Tignor. Great- grandson, Jace Walls. Grand-pups, Benj, Bear, Malibu, Eike, Murphy, Hank, Bandit, Ryley, Scooter and Lilly.
Brother, JE Stanley (Kate). Sisters, MaryJane Cannon, Kay Roach (Roy), Rose Prillman. A multitude of nieces and nephews. Brother-in-laws, Clinton Vestal (Hazel), JD Vestal (Judy) and Red Vestal.
Special friends Dora and Jerry Farley whom she loved dearly. Shirley had many more special friends that she loved dearly that’s to many to mention.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M at Solid Rock Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11 A.M. at Solid Rock Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Hawkins and Pastor Chuck Stout officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Denton’s Valley.
Pallbearers will be Bill McCommas, David Vestal, Tony Walls, Dexter Patton, Jerry Farley, and Jerry Farley, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Solid Rock Baptist Church, Mike Rickman, Clarence Baumgardner, J.D. Vestal, and Clinton Vestal
