Shirley Deloris Casey Ray

Shirley Deloris Casey Ray, 78, of the North Fork River Road section, went to be with Lord on November 13th, 2025. 

Shirley was born January 15, 1947, to the late Robert and Edna Eskridge Casey. Shirley was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and was a faithful member of River Bend Union Church.

She shared her love for the lord as a member of the gospel group, the Casey Family. She was a homemaker who loved the outdoors and helping others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who never met a stranger. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant son, William Christopher, her loving husband of 50 years, Clyde. Sisters Dorothy (Mack) Ray, Geneva Casey, Pearl (Bill) Carrier. Brother L.C. Casey. Sister-in-law Betty Casey and brother-in-law Wayne Lewis.

Survivors include children, Kristi White of Saltville, Va., Angela (Tim) Wise of Marietta, Ga. Chad (Charisma) Ray of Emory, Va and Brad Ray of Saltville, Va. Sisters Freda (Richard) Myers of Piney Flats, TN. Jewel (Richard) Ray of Saltville, Va and  Daphne Lewis of Saltville, Va. Brothers Alvin (Linda) Casey of Saltville, Va. Bobby (Audrey) Casey of Meadowview, Va Dudley (Hazel) Casey of Meadowview, Va and Tony Casey of Meadowview, Va. Seven grandchildren Nina (Drew) Lester, Andrea Jones, Dakota (Emily) Ray, Ethan Wise, Abigail Ray, Kacie Ray and Shay Campbell and several nieces and nephews, extended family and numerous friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of Virginia, especially Mary Ray and Tabitha Meadows. The family would also like to thank her caregivers Linda, Gracie and Paula.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M., with Reverend Roger O’Quinn, officiating. Interment will follow at Fall Hills Cemetery, in Saltville, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be nephews. 

Honorary pallbearers, nephews Craig Ray and Todd Ray.
