Shelby "Ruth" Cunningham, 80, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023.
Shelby was born on September 15, 1942 to the late William Edward Bevins and Hazel Elizabeth Bevins.
Shelby lived all of her life in Mendota, Virginia. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Pine Gove Baptist Church.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Delmer Bevins; the father of her children and special friend, Sam Cunningham.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Cunningham; three sons, Buddy Cunningham and wife, Kelly, Randy Cunningham and wife, Debbie, Travis Cunningham and wife, Heather; three sisters, Shirley Himes, Lilly Cox, Juanita Gibson; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Mendota Community Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Tenney officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
