Samuel Hershel Hagy, 78, passed away on December 31, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee after a brief illness.
Better known by all as Sam, he was a resident of Kingsport and had retired from AFG Glass in Church Hill TN. He was born in Washington County Virginia and was the fifth child of Joe and Nell Hagy. He graduated from Bethel High School and Abingdon High School. He has been instrumental in the Bethel reunions for many years. He was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Kingsport and was involved un many areas of
ministry, especially the bus ministry.
Including his parents, Sam is preceded in death by his oldest brother, Jack K. Hagy.
Survivors include his wife, Ann; stepsons, Tommy Shuler and Dwayne Horton; sisters, Betty Stone, Margaret Remine; brothers, James Hagy and wife Shirley, Michael Hagy and wife, Fran, along with 23 nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
Sam was a devout Christian and as a friend, described him in one word, he was faithful to his God, his church, and his family and friends. He will be missed.
At this time, there will not be a service for Mr. Samuel Hershel Hagy.
