Russell Monroe Garrett, 80, was called home to the Lord the morning of Thursday, November 25, 2021 at his residence in Bristol, VA.
Russell grew up in Greendale, VA before moving to Bristol, VA to spend 58 years as a devoted husband and father. He worked for Paty Lumber Co. over 20 years, and spend time with Bristol Virginia Parks and Recreation before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis Cleason Garrett and Emma “Sis” Marsh Garrett.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores Almany Garrett; sons, Michael Garrett and Daniel Garrett; daughter, Natasha Garrett; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Garrett; grandchildren, Evan Helton, Emilie Rasnake, Kyndal Garrett and Aubrey Garrett; brother, Darius Garrett; sister, Eileen Long (Kenneth Long); also, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 29, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. in the Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum in Bristol, VA. A service will follow in the mausoleum at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Daniel Garrett officiating.
He will forever live within our hearts and remain a guiding light to all his loved ones.
