Rosa Lee Phelps

She was born November 23, 1917, to the late Charles Walden and Carrie Jones Walden. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, W.S. Phelps and one son, Charles W. Phelps.

She was a lifelong homemaker and a devoted mother to her son. Rosa Lee was a pursuer of knowledge and was a great teacher to her grandchildren, Carrie and Craig. She was a member of Abingdon Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Charlene Phelps of Abingdon, VA; granddaughter, Carrie Phelps Baxter and husband, Todd of Abingdon, VA; grandson, Craig W. Phelps and wife, Michelle of Piney Flats, Tenn.; great grandchildren, Walden Baxter, Lincoln Baxter and Charlee Rose Phelps.

The family wishes to their sincere thanks to the staff at Grace Healthcare Center for the sincere and loving care shown to Mrs. Phelps during her stay.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Dr. William Bryan officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Blevins, Jim Price, Jim Hardwick and Jerry Belisle.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to Abingdon Baptist Church, 361 W. Main Street, Abingdon, VA, 24210.
