Ronald "Ron" R. Clappse

Ronald R. (Ron) Clappse, age 65, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at his home.


He was born November 11, 1958 in Irvington, New Jersey, a son of the late Ronald T. Clappse and Margaret Faye Clappse.

He and his family moved to the Abingdon area over 50 years ago. He was a professional truck driver, a master electrician, and a master auto mechanic. He owned and operated Abingdon Electrical and then retired from Bristol Rent-All, Inc. with 33 years of service.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Clappse, his mother-in-law, Frances Wright, and a special friend, Richard Stevens.


Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda W. Clappse; one brother Donald Clappse and his wife Sandra; one nephew, Josh Clappse; four nieces, Brooke Clappse, Julie Blevins, Dr. Pam Shipley, and Dr. Ashley Murray; two great nephews and one great niece; his father-in-law, Noah Wright; brothers-in-law, Albert Wright and wife Sherry; sisters-in-law, Vicky Blaylock and husband Ted; also he was a second father to Benji and Cullen Barker and a third grandfather to their children, Abby, Will, Ben, Mairiam, Hanna, Paul, and his special four-legged companion “Bonnie”.


The family will receive friends at Frost Funeral Home on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Sprinkle and Rev Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be Benji, Cullen and Will Barker, Ted Blaylock, Kevin Wheeler, and Donnie Clappse. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Wright, Noah Wright, Mike Barker, Bruce Higinbothom M.D., and Tom Puckett.


Frost Funeral Home and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Mr. Ronald Clappse.
