Roger Bruce Bailey passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
As a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Roger was always a moral compass guiding us all through life’s troubled waters, a cheerleader when we needed a fan, and a solid rock when we needed a firm foundation.
Roger was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He loved his family, his church, and above all, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce Harrison Bailey and Edna Smith Bailey.
He is survived by Nancy Shortt Bailey, his wife and best friend for 57 plus years; three sons David Bruce Bailey and wife Leslie, Roger Dale Bailey and wife Ruth Ann, and James Daniel Bailey and wife Marti; along with ten special and beloved grandchildren; and two very precious great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Frost Funeral Home Chapel in Abingdon, Virginia. Funeral service to follow with Pastor Dwayne Dillard officiating. Interment to follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Bailey, Joel Bailey, Joseph Bailey, Grant Jacobsen, Tyler Dixon, and Nelson Shortt.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Craig Milhorne.
