Rodney Dale Sweet, age 56, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Rodney loved the outdoors, especially fishing and riding the side by side with his wife on several of the local ATV and UTV trails. Most importantly, he was a child of God.
Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Leisa Sweet; parents, Paul and Shirley Jones Sweet; brother, Paul Sweet Jr. (Lisa); father and mother-in-law; Kelly and Darlene Crosswhite; sister-in-law, Teresa Stevens (Rusty); brother-in-law, Michael Crosswhite (Priscilla); nephews, Jonathan Sweet (Nichole), Jarrod Sweet (Miranda), Jeffrey Gobble (Charley), Joshua Gobble (Savannah), Austin Crosswhite (Ali) and Jacob Crosswhite; nieces, Kelsey Jones (Andrew) and Katie Crosswhite; great nephews, Easton and Gunner Sweet, Sawyer Crosswhite, and Axil and Ryder Bartley; great niece; Suzzi Hale; also, two expecting great - nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 28, 2023 at Frost Funeral Home. A service will be held at 11:00 A.M. July 29, 2023 at Frost Funeral Home with Pastor Jacob Doss, Pastor Brad Davis, and Pastor Bill Hawkins officiating. Committal service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Alvarado, VA.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kirby Gobble, Trampus Mitchell, Greg Cornett, Travis Fritz, Kevin Sweet, Kaden Sweet, and Konnor Sweet.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Cornett, Tim Edwards, Dewey Sweet and Jerry Fritz.
The family will receive friends at Mr. Sweets parents address, 20282 Bethel Rd, Abingdon, VA. 24211.
Due to family allergies the family ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
