Robert H. (Bobby) Bailey, age 63, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with Lord Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his home.
He was born February 17, 1955, in Washington County, Va., a son of the late Howell Bailey and Jennie Lee May Bailey. He lived his entire life in the Abingdon area and was a 1974 graduate of Abingdon High School. He worked for the United States Government at the Federal Court House in Abingdon for 31 years and was currently employed by Northern Management Services at the same location. Bobby loved his entire family and was especially devoted to his four grandchildren. He was a very talented person in many areas and was always willing to help anyone he could. He was a member of Greendale Chapel.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Tittle and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Seldon and Lilly Cumbow.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Wanda Bailey of the home; one daughter, Misti Toro and husband Sean of LaCrescenta, CA; one son, Michael Bailey and wife Valerie of Abingdon; five sisters, Irma McReynolds and husband Robert of Blountville, Tenn., Helen Slagle and husband Allen and Mary Bird and husband Walter, all of Bristol, Va., Alice Osborne of Abingdon, Va., and Patty Mink of Bristol, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Connie Singleton of Abingdon, Va.; brother-in-law, Wayne Tittle of Bristol, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Aspen Bailey, Dax Bailey, Ethan Toro, and Avery Toro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2018, at 7:00 P.M. at Greendale Chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 P.M. until time of the funeral service. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Co-workers and Men of Greendale Chapel will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
