Richard Michael Doss, 33, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at his home in Abingdon.
Richard was born March 1, 1990, in Marion, Virginia. He loved to fish and to just be outdoors. He was an avid race fan and could often be found at races and truck shows. He loved his friends and family and lived life to the fullest.
Richard was so full of life. Everywhere he went, he touched the hearts and lives of those around him and was known for lighting up any room he was in. He made fast friends and was a friend for life. He would help anyone and never thought of himself.
Richard is survived by his mother, Shannon Collins; his father, Timmy Doss; his stepfather, Rodney Collins; stepmother, Tonya Neal Johnson; brother, Christopher Burr; sisters, Cheyanne Collins (Storm Robinson) and Terissa Collins (Drizzt Johnson); his daughter, who meant the world to him, Ava Doss; and Presley Hazlyn-Grace Doss, whom he raised and loved as his own; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family also survive.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia with Pastor Junior Gobble officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to convene at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.
Stevie Salyers, Corey Cantrell, Kevin Eskridge, Ben Neece, Josh Stewart, R.J. Burke,Shannon Graham and David Black will serve as pallbearers.
