Ramona Sexton Calloway, 82, of Meadowview, Va., went to be with the .Lord, Monday, December 21, 2020, at Valley Healthcare Center.
She was born in Russell County, Va., a daughter of the late Kelly and Florine Sexton. She lived most of her life in Washington County, Va. She was a writer for the Washington County, Va. newspaper and was retired as a creative writing and keyboarding teacher for Morrison School. She was a member of the PTA, Meadowview Civic Club, and the burley twirlers. Mrs. Calloway was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Meadowview, Va.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Calloway; grandson, Caven Alexander Calloway and brother, David Sexton.
Survivors include her daughter, Andrea Morton and husband Rickey; son, James Christopher Calloway; brothers, Jim and Joe; grandchildren, Kelly Morton, Kaitlin Morton, Kendal Morton, Kerry Morton; great grandchildren, Brantley Widener, Kaybrie Morton, Rylann Little, Adalyn Little, and another granddaughter due in April 2021; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2020, at Knollkreg Memorial Park with Tommy Oakes officiating. Kelly Morton, Chris Calloway, Kerry Morton, Rickey Morton, Johnny White and Josh Widener will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Mink, Frank Mink, Kirby Lloyd, Ron Musick, Johnny Boyd, Eddie Bailey and members of the Meadowview Volunteer Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, all those attending services are asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
