Ralph Abner “Buddy” Galliher, 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Lakebridge Community in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Buddy was born September 25, 1930, in Washington County to the late Roy and Monta Galliher. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict after which he was honorably discharged. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He retired from long-haul truck driving and was a member of the Green Springs Volunteer Fire Department for many years, where he faithfully served his community as a firefighter. Buddy loved to hunt, fish, watch Virginia Tech Football, go out to eat, and have a good time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, H. Louise Galliher; four sisters, Mildred Hill, Margaret Booker, Shirley Glover and Edith Brown; one brother, Jerry Galliher; three nephews, Randy Hill, Richard Hill and William Booker; and one niece, Kim Galliher.
Buddy is survived by nieces, Patty Combs and husband Howard and Becky Glover Blackwell; nephew, Larry Brown and wife Erma; sister, Carolyn Woolwine; sister-in-law, Jeanie Campbell and husband Don; brother-in-law, Paul E. Price; special friends, Junior French, Chester Moore, and Damon Boyd; many other nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Knollkreg Memorial Park Mausoleum. A funeral service will follow in the mausoleum chapel at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Jerry A. Eggers officiating.
Members of the Green Spring Volunteer Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.
