Preston McClellan Willis, 95, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Deer Meadows in Abingdon, Virginia.
He was born March 18, 1928, in Washington County, Virginia to the late Claude and Sally Galliher Willis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gay Long Willis; one brother, Hobart Willis; three sisters, Telma Arnold, Fredia Stout, and Bonnie Crumley.
Preston is survived by ten children, Roger Willis of Bedford, Virginia, Phyllis (Ernest) Seward of Lynchburg, Virginia, Randy Willis of Abingdon, Virginia, Kay W. Willis of Bristol, Virginia, Mike Willis of Lynchburg, Virginia, Barry (Darla) Willis of Meadowview, Virginia, Betty (Craig) Cooke of Lynchburg, Virginia, Sandy (Glenn) Micklem of Madison Heights, Virginia, Hopie W. Irvin of Madison Heights, Virginia, and Joanne Coffey of Lynchburg, Virginia; sister, Shirley Jones; special friends, David White of Madison Heights, Virginia and Sharon Cash of Lynchburg, VA. Preston is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and three great-great- grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jacob Uthup officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Jesse Irvin, Chris Peters, Cody Butler, Nick Joyce, Mike Willis, Roger Willis, Todd Willis, and Dylan Peters will serve as pallbearers.
Barry Willis, Randy Willis, Ernest Seward, Craig Cooke, Glenn Micklem, Clyde Wise, and David White will serve as honorary pallbearers.
