Phyllis Ratliff Litton

Phyllis Ratliff Litton, born May 26, 1936, passed away peacefully March 9, 2026, at 89 years old. Phyllis was the daughter of Emma Dixon and Garland V. Ratliff of Abingdon, VA.

Phyllis was born, raised, and lived her entire life in Abingdon, VA. A lifetime member of Greendale United Methodist Church, Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, and career nurse. She graduated in 1956 as a registered nurse from Emory & Henry College and the Johnston Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She took care of patients at Johnston Memorial Hospital for over 40 years.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie E. Litton Jr., and her brother, Robert Ratliff. She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Litton; nephew Ward Ratliff; along with other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held in Abingdon at Knollkreg Memorial Park & Cremation Gardens on March 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. A celebration of Phyllis’ life will follow at the Litton home.
