Patricia “Patty” McCall was born on March 8th, 1946, to Harold W. and Pauline (Browning) in the Green Springs area of Washington County.
When Patty was four years in age her family moved to the Lodi area where she attended Liberty Hall School. The class with whom she graduated had twenty-two members.
Patty valued her friendship with all; however, as is the case in many incidences, there was a special friend (they actually considered each other to be “sisters”) even as Judy Carver married Lee Smith, traveled the world, settled in Dublin, Virginia and visited Patty on Saturday, February 7, 2025.
Patty pursued further education at the Johnston Memorial School of Nursing, where she received the title of registered nurse. She married David McCall September 23, 1967. They moved to Abingdon to be close to J.M.H. where Patty became the most dedicated employee, working in the O.B. department until the last twenty years when she moved to surgery department.
Patty knew the meaning of hard work, never shying from it until one year around Mother’s Day, she must have been feeling a little on the soft order, she announced to Jason and Alan she could use a weed eater that would actually start. They obliged her, and she came home to a spotted goat staked in the yard.
April of 2013, Patty retired from the job that paid her for nursing; however, she never retired from being a nurse and care giver. She cared for and provided aide and advise to many in Abingdon, Meadowview, and surrounding areas.
Patty and David moved from Abingdon back to the Lodi area to enjoy the last years of her life.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents; along with two brothers Eddie (Susie), and Wayne (Jeannie).
She is survived by husband. David; brother Tom (Chris); two sons Alan McCall (Sandy), and Jason McCall (Rocky); grandsons Kagan, Jesse, Harley, Tristin, and Baylen. Last but most definitely, not least in order of affection and attention the one and only granddaughter Avery Page McCall. Patty is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
