Patricia McConnell

Mrs. Patricia Garrett McConnell, of Abingdon, Va., passed away at the age of 92, on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Abingdon Health and Rehab.

She is preceded in death by her husband, E. C. McConnell and son, Richard E. McConnell along with her parents, Graham and Ruth Garrett; brothers, Jack, Rex, Wayne, Don and Jay Garrett.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Denice McConnell and two sons, Jeff McConnell and wife Janet, Clifford K. McConnell and Margie; grandchildren, Carey Adams and Angie Biorck; great grandchildren, Michaela Adams, Adriana Flores, Gavin Roberts and Autumn Biorck; one brother Jessee Garrett and wife Phyllis, many nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong resident of the Green Springs community where she has been a member of the Green Spring Presbyterian Church for 72 years. She was known by her friends and family as a devoted wife, special mother, a blessed neighbor and a embolden spirit of Christian faith in both words and deeds.

The family would like to recognize neighbors that made her end times special, Claudia and Malcolm Sprinkle, Mary Jane Crosby, Martha Elkins, Carol Lockart, Yvonne and Preston Brown and all her Church family and people who sent cards and made her days bright, and special thanks to all employees of Abingdon Health and Rehab for extraordinary care, friendship, and support, she thought of you as family.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Green Spring Presbyterian Church followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jon Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and neighbors.
