Patricia Gaye Sloan Hensley, 80, of Abingdon, Va., passed away at her home on December 16, 2019.
Patricia was born May 10, 1939, in Clinchco, Va., to the late Kelly and Maxie Silcox Sloan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her canine companion, Papillon Hensley.
Patricia was a longtime resident of Abingdon, Va., where she enjoyed serving as a Parrish visitor at Abingdon United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School along with her husband for many years. Patricia was a member of the Women’s Club and was an avid animal lover.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Robert Hensley of Abingdon, Va. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sister-in-law, Betty Fox of Harrogate, Tenn. and brother-in-law, Luther Dale Hensley of Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by her feline companion, Tiger.
A crypt side service will be held for Mrs. Hensley at 12 p.m., on Thursday, December 19, 2019, at the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Va. with Rev. Dr. Bill Bryan officiating.
