Nicholas John Whitehall

Nicholas John Whitehall, 53, passed away November 6, 2023, in Ontario, California near his home briefly after being diagnosed with cancer.


Nicholas was born on January 24, 1970, in Fontana, California to Nita Joyce Latham and John Henry Whitehall. Nicholas accomplished a lot in his few short years on earth to include earning an Associate’s Degree in Administration of Justice at Victor Valley College. He went on to work at Desert View Prison for seven years. From Desert View, he became employed with the Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons where he assisted in opening several institutions at the Federal Correctional Complex in Victorville, California. Nicholas worked as a Lock Shop and Armory Specialist, and he remained with the Bureau of Prisons for 23 years. Nicholas willingly took on the task of raising three stepchildren and his own biological child. Nicholas provided a loving and wholesome home for his wife and children while always putting the family first was his top priority.


Nicholas is survived by his wife, Mary Anna Whitehall, daughter, Ashley Ann Whitehall and three stepchildren, James Paul Allen, Matthew Sinclair Allen and Katherine Lindsey Allen. Nicholas is also survived by 14 grandchildren. Nicholas was a friend to all.


After funeral services in California, the family will receive friends on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia with Reverend Mike Somers officiating. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.


Troy Whitehall, John Whitehall, Matt Allen, James Allen, Trevor Whitehall, and Gil Ibarra will serve as pallbearers.
