Naomi “Katherine” Owens

April 29, 1935—August 27, 2025

Naomi “Katherine” Owens, 90, died on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at NHC in Bristol, Virginia after a lengthy illness.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Spence and John Roy Hall; one sister Patsy Jordan; four brothers, David Hardin, Billy Spence, Bobby Spence, and Wayne Spence; as well as several brother and sister in laws.

Katherine was a loving wife, mother, nana, and great nana. She worked as a seamstress for many years and retired as a housekeeper from La Quinta Inn in Bristol, Virginia. Katherine loved to cook for large family gatherings and was known for her homemade biscuits and gravy. Katherine was a devout Christian and a member of Suburban Christian Church for over 50 years. Katherine loved her family more than anything.

Katherine is survived by her husband Albert Owens, the love of her life, whom she met while trading comic books; daughters Carolyn Widner (Jerry), Susan Stout, and Angie Meadows (Rick); granddaughters Kristen Bosse (Mike, Isabella, and Chance), and Sarah Phillips (Phoenix and Scarlett); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Katherine’s family would like to thank Dr. Earl Wilson and the staff at NHC Bristol for taking such wonderful care of Katherine.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Frost Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service to follow with Pastor Rich Pannell officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia.
