Nannie Virgie Holbrook Gardas, 86, passed away February 18, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 26, 1936 to the late Elisha Holbrook and Martha Stamper Holbrook in Letcher, Kentucky.
Nannie owned and operated the Candyland store in Abingdon, VA for several years, she was an avid bingo player. Above all she loved attending Highlands Fellowship Church and spending time with her family.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by, her husband William John Gardas, two brothers, Adam “AJ” Holbrook, and Paul Holbrook.
Survivors include, her daughter, Linda Heatherton and husband Dave; sister, Millie Combs; and grandson, William “Bill” Mitchell.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Frost Funeral Home. A service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Highlands Fellowship Church with Pastor Allen Jessee officiating. A committal service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Holbrook Family Cemetery in Sergeant, KY. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 P.M.
