Miss Glenna Joyce Moore

Miss Glenna Joyce Moore, age 77, of Elizabethton, TN. went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2024.

She was born on September 4,1945 in Chilhowie, VA to the late James Joseph Moore and Stella Lee McElyea Moore/ Snyder.

Glenna attended Holston High School in Damascus, VA and graduated from Brandywine School of Nursing in Coatesville, PA.  She worked many years in the nursing field, always putting her patients first! She was known to be a strong advocate for her patient's needs. During her nursing career, at the age of 37 while working at the Coatesville Veteran's Hospital, she participated in a beauty/talent contest and won the competition and was crowned Miss VA!

Glenna's personality was larger than life! Her passions were music and singing.  She loved all types of music but she really enjoyed country music and listening and dancing to Tina Turner's tunes.  She even went to Nashville where she participated as a contestant in a singing contest fashioned like American Idol.  Glenna also had a strong love of watching General Hospital and in having political debates with friends and family.  She had an adoration for animals and had rescued and cared for many critters over her 77 years.

Glenna was preceded in death by her son Ronnie, brothers James, Bobby, Joie, and Randy Moore, and sisters Lois Winters, and Phyllis Jean Walker.  Glenna leaves behind two sons Garland P. Colvin, Jr. and Robert Glenn Colvin and his wife Teresa.  Her two grandchildren Barbara and Logun Colvin were the apples of her eyes. Likewise, she loved her two dogs Remi and Little Daisy and she said they were her "best nurses."

Other survivors include her sister Anita Moore of PA, and many nieces and nephews. While she loved them all, Ashley Salerno and her two children Niklaus and Davina had a special place in her heart.

In Glenna's memory, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or a local animal shelter in her honor.

No,Glenna,"The Circle Won't Broken!" R.I.P. Sister! Keep rolling on the river!
