Allen Ratliff, 58, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away on July 27, 2025. Born on March 26, 1967, he was the beloved son of Michael and Nancy Ratliff.
Allen graduated from Virginia Military Institute (VMI) and served his nation in the United States Air Force. He was the dedicated president of Power Cool Engineers, where he built not just a career, but lasting relationships with his work family and valued clients. He had a passion for the outdoors—especially duck hunting—and cherished time spent farming alongside his sons. Above all, Allen deeply loved and adored his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Nancy Ratliff, and a nephew, Thomas Grant.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 33 years, Rebecca Musick Ratliff; his four children, Clint Ratliff and wife Brooke, Matt Ratliff and fiancé Jade Shepherd, Cole Ratliff, and Benjamin Ratliff and wife Ciana; and his two precious grandchildren, Vivian and Rosalie Ratliff.
Allen is also survived by his sisters, Lisa Grant, Pam Newberry and husband Aaron, Susan Ratliff and husband Pat Walker; his brother, Levi Ratliff; mother-in-law, Nancy Musick; stepmother, Sylvia Ratliff; brother-in-law, Jeff Musick; sister-in-law, Ramona Ownes; nephews, Tucker Grant, Brady Newberry, and Shane Owens; nieces, Morgan Short, Logan Newberry, Candace Henry, and Brittney Burke; and cousins who loved him dearly.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Allen’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Frost Funeral Home Chapel in Abingdon, Virginia. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry A. Eggers, Pastor Dave Stancil, Trey McCall, and Jeff Greene.
