Max Kilmer Powers, age 84, of Emory, Va., passed away Monday, May 21, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Powers was a United States veteran having served his country in the Army. He was a retired Aerospace Engineer from NASA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Powers and Bessie Little Powers; one brother, Kermit Powers and one sister, Audrey Whitley.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Rachel Hurley Powers; two sons, Gregory Allan Powers and William Henry Powers; three sisters, Burlie Blevins; Helen Felts and Kaye Hensley; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. David Jackson officiating. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service in Mason hall.
