Matilda Gay Rowe

Matilda Gay Rowe, age 67, of Abingdon, Va., passed away at her home on Friday, November 02, 2018.

She was born May 12, 1951, in Buchanan County, Va., to the late Clare Franklin Rowe and Maude Gay Rowe Street.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rufus “Buck” Rowe and Harold Rowe; three sisters, Marie Rowe, Joan Keen and Sue R. Laughlin.

Gay was raised in Buchanan County, Va., and attended Rowe Pentecostal Church for many years before moving to Abingdon in 1974.

She is survived by one brother, Denny Rowe and wife, Barbara of Abingdon; sister-in-law, Lieselotte Rowe of Bristol, Va.; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Eddie Gobble officiating.  Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery by 2:45 p.m.
