Mary Florine Singleton

May 11, 1938 – August 2, 2025

Mary Florine Singleton, of Abingdon, Virginia, peacefully passed away on August 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 87 years old.

Born on May 11, 1938, Mary devoted her life to faith, family, and service. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Partha Stidham. She was also the beloved wife of Fred Singleton, with whom she shared 58 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, generosity, and unwavering commitment.

Mary is survived by her children, Pam Wilkins and her husband Richard, and Fred Singleton Jr. and his wife Heather. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Trey, Trent, and Troy, who brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and were blessed by her warmth and affection.

Mary had a deep love for cooking, often filling her home with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her signature dishes, and her faithful companion "Lucy". Her joy came from serving others—whether through a home-cooked meal, a kind word, or simply being present. Her selfless nature and gentle spirit were a blessing to all who knew her.

Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

A service will be held to celebrate Mary's life at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Va on August 12^th, 2025. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. followed by a 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. service officiated by Jeff Fritz and a special memorial by Fred Singleton Jr. A private burial for immediate family only to follow.
