Mary Brown Sweet Marshall Warner, age 101, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 5, 1921 to the late Charles K and Molly Brown.
Mary was a strong and fierce lady that raised her 8 children by herself after her husband, Lacy Sweet, passed away at a very young age. She spent most of her life working on a farm to provide for her family. Once her children were raised, she worked many years at Camp Sequoya and King College before running a boat dock store at Painter Creek then opening a storefront in the Green Spring Community.
In addition to her parents and siblings, Mary is preceded in death by her sons, Delmas Sweet and Bobby; grandchildren Sheila Montgomery, Sharon Montgomery, Norman Montgomery and Sherry Thacker.
Those left to cherish her memories are her five children, Edna (Tony) Olinger, Marie (Bud) Rowe, Willis (Dot) Sweet, Carol (Kenny) Rowe and Jackie (Ruth) Sweet; ten grandchildren, Patty Montgomery, Tammy (Johnny) Baldwin, Greg (Tammy) Rowe, Renee Rowe, Nicky (Ashley) Sweet, Penny (Gary) Carrier, Christy (Darrell) Long, Curtis (Miranda) Rowe, Mike Sweet and Melissa Collins; eighteen great grandchildren, Khristopher Stiltner, Justin Rouse, Anthony Stiltner, Zachary Baldwin, Hannah Baldwin, Dustin Rowe, David Rowe, Megan Gobble, Wesley Sweet, Abby Sweet, Haley Carrier, McKenzie Thacker, Madison Justice, Morgan Thacker, Clayton Rowe, Heather Salyer, Shayna Bishop and Derek Sweet; fourteen great - greatgrandchildren, Shanla, Zavanna, Carter, Bonnie, Weston, Michelle, Kenny, Gracie, Mila, Brennox, Harper, Ella, Ivan, Braden and Brenleigh.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Green Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family acknowledges the commitment and dedication of her oldest daughter, Edna and granddaughter Patty for the past several years of love and care they provided.
