Marjorie Orr Addison

Marjorie Orr Addison, 86, of Abingdon, Va., died on Thursday, May 03, 2018, at English Meadows in Abingdon, Va.

She was born on October 11, 1931, in Washington County, Va., a daughter of the late John Robinson “Dodge” Orr and Ruby Pearl Sheppard Orr.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Addison; son, Michael Addison; son-in-law, Bill Rowe and a grandson-in-law, Phillip Eyrich.

She was a member of Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church.  Marjorie had a deep love for her church and church family.  Her life was lived in service to others. She was retired from the Washington County, Va. Public School system after serving as a teacher for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Joy Rowe; grandchildren, Christy Eyrich, Amy (Keith) Perrigan, Jamie (Ashley) Allison, Michael (Kendra) Addison and Kelsie Addison; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters, June Warriner and Nancy (Don) Inazu; and brother, Jerry Orr (Gail).

Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church.  A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Joel M. Long officiating. Interment will follow at Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va.

Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in any form that is desired by her friends.
