Mrs. Margaret Louise Hunsaker, 81, went to be with Jesus Saturday, October 15, 2022.
She was born on July 23, 1941 to the late Helen M. McConnell and Albert V. McMullan. Margaret grew up in the Alexandria Virginia and Arlington, Virginia.
She met her husband, Curtis Hunsaker on a blind date and they were married six months later. They lived in Wise, Virginia and Tazewell, Virginia before settling in Lynchburg, Virginia where they resided for the next 12 years. They then moved to Abingdon, Virginia in 1978 to take on the adventure of owning and operating a small grocery store called, “The Village Markette.”
Margaret was known for her kindness and compassion. She always put others before herself and was generous with not just her time, but with everything she owned. She had a blessed life with Curtis and enjoyed their many years of traveling the world which included taking 18 cruises with many of their friends. However, she often said the happiest time of her life was when she was raising her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Curtis Hunsaker; three daughters, Teresa Castle, Lisa Hudson and husband Jeff, Kim Orfield and husband Trevor; son, Scott Hunsaker and wife Lani; five grandchildren who knew her as, “Grammie,” Larissa Tolliver, Lauren Tolliver, Devin Hudson, Hyde Hunsaker, and Mason Hunsaker.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Frost Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Daniel Garrett officiating. A committal service will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers include Devin Hudson, Jeff Hudson, Hyde Hunsaker, Mason Hunsaker, Michael Lovell, and Trevor Orfield.
