Margaret Catherine Campbell McIntyre

Margaret Catherine Campbell Mcintyre, 101 passed away October 18, 2025. Margaret was born December 9, 1923, to the late David J. and Kate Gray Campbell. She was a member of the Meadowview Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.


She was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) E. Mcintyre; her parents, David and Kate Campbell; her siblings, Charles Campbell, J.W. Campbell, and Nancy Morefield; as well as her sisters-in-law, Isabell Gawryla, Marie Campbell, and Edna Campbell.


Left to cherish her memory are sons, William E. Mcintyre (Laddawan) of Niceville, FLand Thomas C. Mcintyre (Donna) of Abingdon, VA; granddaughter Sawvalak Kleiv (Craig) of Portland, OR; two great-granddaughters Mali Kleiv of Fredericksburg, VA and Anna Kleiv of Portland, OR; also, several other nieces and nephews.


Special thanks to caregivers, Sandy Eller, Sherry Thornburg, Ellen Boothe, Ernestine Dunn and Teresa Grear.


Margaret grew up on a farm near Abingdon, cultivating a strong work ethic and a commitment to family values within both her immediate and extended family. She graduated from William King High School and Bristol Commercial College. After World War II, Margaret married Bill on October 2, 1948 and shared 60 years together until his death on February 26, 2009.


Balancing the responsibilities of motherhood and household management, Margaret also sustained a distinguished professional career. She devoted over twenty-four years to Farm Bureau Insurance in Abingdon, where she played a vital role in the office's daily operations.


Throughout her 101 years, Margaret cultivated numerous lasting friendships and was widely recognized for her kindness and generosity. Her commitment to family was evident in her close relationships with her sons, their spouses, and her grandchildren. Margaret was highly regarded by all who knew her and her absence will be keenly felt.


A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at KnollKreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia with Scott Harrigar officiating.


A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
