Mae Madeline Lambert Hughes, 92, of Bristol, TN passed away on January 10, 2025.
Madeline was born March 1, 1932, in Russell County, VA. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1950 and lived many years in Russell County, VA. Madeline married Jim Hughes of Russell County, VA December 15, 1950. They later moved to Bristol, TN. She worked as a seamstress at L C King Corporation for some time and then for 15 years at Sperry-Univac in Bristol, TN. Madeline and Jim moved to Alabama while Jim finished his career at Sperry-Univac of Bristol, TN. They then returned to Bristol and began enjoying retirement. Her hobbies include sewing, flower arrangements, bowling, camping, and antique cars. Madeline and Jim opened Hughes Mustang Parts in Bristol and enjoyed restoring 65-67 Mustangs for many years.
Madeline was preceded in death by husband James Hughes, her parents, Garnet and Harrison Lambert; two brothers, L G Lambert and Ed Lambert. Madeline and Jim were members of North Bristol Baptist Church for many years, and she later became a member of Piney Flats Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include Dean Hughes of Bristol; daughter, Donna Nave and husband, Jim, one granddaughter, one grandson and several great grandchildren. Also, of special mention and surviving Madeline is her special friend, Dina Dye and Madeline's loving puppy, Roxy!
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Frost Funeral Home with a service to follow at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Robert Russell officiating. The committal service will be private.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Barker, Bobby Laprade, Danny Booher, David Cook, Buzz Helms, Rob Gilliam, and David Hinkle.
