Ms. Macey Elizabeth Stevenson, 63, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Macey was born December 6, 1958 to the late Oliver Benjamin Rhoten and Mary Frances Keith and remained a life-long resident of Abingdon. Macey loved music and would often sing with her sister, Millie, and her children. She loved old cars and was especially fond of her sister’s 1969 Pontiac GTO. Many in Abingdon fondly remember Macey from her days as a waitress; in fact, many of her regular customers would request to sit at Macey’s table or her sister, Millie’s, table. Her family will cherish their memories of her sweet smile and kind-hearted nature. According to her family, Macey was always taking in strays, whether human or animal, and she always strived to look her best regardless of the destination.
She is survived by two sons, David (Kim) Thomas and Matthew (Angela) Rhoten; two brothers, Lonnie Lincoln (Mary) Keith and Charlie (Debbie) Rhoten; three sisters, Millie (Sam) Snead, Christina Hayden, and Nellie McCracken; two grandsons, Austin and Caleb Thomas; a special nephew who lived with and cared for her, Travis Moore; many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date.
Frost Funeral Home and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Ms. Stevenson.
