Lynn Wells McConnell, 64, of Abingdon, Va., died on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Johnston Memorial Hospital from complications of COVID-19.
Lynn was born on January 7, 1957, in Abingdon, Va., to Marvin and Betty McConnell. He was the youngest of six children. Lynn was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother; his daughter, Valerie “Annie” Mitchell and husband, Brad; one granddaughter, Amaya Camille Mitchell; five brothers and sisters; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his many friends.
Lynn was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va. He worked as a truck driver, heavy equipment operator and also in the logging industry. In his younger days he was an avid motocross racer. He was known for his sense of humor, love of jokes and was a beloved father.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 2 p.m., in Green Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 22007 Green Spring Church Rd., Abingdon, Va., 24211, with Rev. Jon Martin officiating.
