Lucille Hoss, age 79, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born September 12, 1943, in Washington County, Virginia, a daughter of the late George Washington Anderson and Ruby Harmon Anderson. She lived her entire life in Washington County and was a retired employee of Bristol Compressors. She also farmed for many years and was a long-time member of Greendale Chapel.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam Anderson, Larry Anderson, and Clyde Anderson.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Hoss and wife Bonita, and Daniel Hoss and wife Missy; two daughters, Teresa Helton and husband David, and Karen Austin and husband Bobby; one brother, Roger Anderson; two sisters, Elizabeth Roark and husband June, and Jane Bowers; six grandchildren, Brian Helton, Tracy Blankenship and husband Justin, Jared Hoss and wife Emily, Adam Gill and wife Lacey, and Lane Hoss and John Saltz and wife Brittany; great granddaughter Trinity Saltz; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at the family cemetery on Clinch Mountain with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers and Bro. Daniel Hoss officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the funeral home by 3:00 P.M. to go into procession.
Pallbearers will be Brian Helton, Jared Hoss, Adam Gill, Lane Hoss, John Saltz, and Austin Ketchum.
A special thank you to Liz, we will forever be grateful bond that you shared with “Lucy”, and for always being there for the good times and the bad. Your roots made you sisters, and your hearts made you best friends.
