Larry Wayne Gillenwater, age 64, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia.
He was born June 20, 1956, in Washington County, Virginia, a son of the late Bobby Gillenwater and Evelyn Kesner Gillenwater. He lived most of his life in the Greendale area and had been a resident of Cross Roads Point Group Home in Coeburn, Virginia, for the past four years. Diane and Larry Collins and the staff at the Group Home loved Larry, know that he is with the Lord, and will never forget him. Larry was a kind individual who loved people. He was a member of Greendale Chapel and faithfully attended all services as long as his health permitted.
Survivors include his brother, Tommy Gillenwater; his uncle and guardian, Robert L. Kesner; and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the Garrett/Kesner portion of Greendale Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery by 10:50 A.M.
Serving as pallbearers will be the Men of Greendale Chapel.

Special thanks are extended to the staff of Cross Roads Point Group Home for the love, concern, and care given to Larry.
