Kristin Lee "Kris" Gardner of Abingdon, Virginia passed away peacefully in her sleep, with a heart ready to meet her Redeemer, on July 11, 2023.
Kristin was a strong and fierce woman. After raising two children in Detroit, Kristin put herself through college and went to work as an RN for more than 30 years. During that time, she worked with the Red Cross, providing relief to those affected by natural disasters throughout the US. Kristin was a talented chorister who sang in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Mormon Tabernacle with her choir. She was kind, caring, and strong, blind to race, color, creed, and gender. She loved animals, music, theater, and helping others. She protected the abused and cared for the forsaken, and in doing so, she saved countless lives and touched the lives of untold others.
Kristin is survived by her loving family and many beloved friends, husband William "Bill" Gardner; her brothers Craig (wife Rose), Paul (wife Teddy), and Cameron; her sister Lori (husband Rick) and several nieces and nephews. Her daughter Kimber Stepp (husband Tony) and their children Jason, Sara, Joshua, and Hana; her great-grandson Joseph; as well as her son Howie Graham (wife Tabatha) and their children Graham and Duncan, will carry on her spirit and legacy of kindness and love.
Services for Mrs. Gardner will be privately.
Frost Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Gardner.
