Kenneth “Kenny” Harold Hicks, 67, of Meadowview, Va., passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Kenny was a former employee of American Electric Power and later served as the custodian at Patrick Henry High School. He retired from Emory & Henry College where he worked in the custodian and maintenance department for several years. Kenny enjoyed working on and painting old trucks and cars. He attended the Church of New Beginnings in Glade Spring, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul C. Hicks and Helen Joyce Hicks.
Survivors include his children, Aaron Hicks (Nikki) and Alicia Hicks (Brian Almany); papaw’s little buddy and best friend his grandson, Logan Hicks; sisters, Joyce Testerman (John) and Lois Williams (Jamie); brothers, Henry Hicks (Joyce), Earl Hicks and Baxter Hicks (Violet); step-father, Edward Hicks; several nieces, nephews, and a special little girl who called him uncle Kenny, Olivia Rosenbaum.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m., with Pastor David Gilliam and Pastor Jeff Wallace officiating. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday in the Holston Conference Cemetery, Emory, Va.
Those attending are asked to gather at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Logan Hicks, Michael Hicks, Lou Testerman, Seth Testerman, Jeff Paquette, Cody Widener and Jason Rosenbaum. Honorary pallbearers will be Jed Williams, Matthew Price, Mike Mash, Garnet Lester, Arvil Lester, and Bryan Price.
