Katy Ruth Hamilton, 73, of the Black Hollow community, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 29, 2019, at her home.
She was born October 3, 1945, in Washington County, Va., to the late Frank Bott and Ruby Mae Anderson Bott. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one brother, Frankie Bott.
Katy was retired from Sam’s Club in Bristol, Va., and had attended Swartz Chapel Church.
Survivors include three children, Kathy Phipps, Amy Wilson and Joe Hamilton and fiancé, Rebecca Cape all of Abingdon; one sister, Charlotte Burnette (Dennis) of Abingdon; three grandchildren, Logan Wilson and fiancé, Megan Ward, Tannar Smith (Dylan) and Justin Wilson (Lexie); two nephews, Mike Burnette and Allen Bott; special friends, Billy Hamilton and Tammy Raines; and her two canine companions, Liz and Charlotte.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Frost Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Brother Daniel Hoss and Pastor Larry “P.T.” Glover officiating. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Darren Anderson, Aaron Arnold, Micky Brewer, Logan Holman, Cody Collins and Darrell Long.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to a local animal shelter in keeping with her love of animals.
